How Shops Start Preparing for Christmas ahead of time

Every year it seems christmas is being celebrated earlier and earlier. This year shops have been preparing for christmas by stocking up on inventory, excessive marketing campaigns and upgrading their online presence in order to maximise revenue for when people start buying christmas gifts. An excellent example of shops preparing for christmas ahead of time is Harrods which is said to open their Christmas department in the last weekend of July. Of course not every shop gets ready as early as Harrods however in recent years shops such as Hamleys and even the LEGO store have been seen advancing their christmas preparation far earlier than before. Some believe that this is the consumerist nature of the shopping industry exposing itself whilst others believe that its all in good fun and for the sake of christmas festivities.
